How Can I Work From Home With A Baby

Are you a new parent? It may seem impossible to get work done with a baby around. John Crestani gives his insight as an entrepreneur and a father.

How do you work at home with a baby? Okay. I have a baby. I have a two-year-old and I have another little girl on the way, so I have a lot of experience about how to work at home with a baby, and I'm going to be going over in this video how you can work at home with a baby, whether you can send them to daycare or whether you just can't.

Waiiiii! Ah, I can't stand when it cries like that. I just have to go over and coddle it, and I don't want to get fired from my job. Working at home with a baby is hard. Okay. I work at home with the baby, and it can get frustrating sometimes because sometimes you just have to drop everything you're doing, not drop the baby. You have to drop everything you're doing to take care of your kid. You can't work a normal job or career. And it's frustrating and madding. Now, one thing that if you can send your kid to childcare to daycare, obviously you can basically work any job you want. So I'm not really going to be addressing that scenario. Now, if you want to know how you can work at home, but you still have, you have your baby in daycare, you know I have a video where I show you how you can find, you know, different websites.

You can use defined remote jobs, but I'm not going to be addressing that anymore. I want to address the scenario of where you have a baby at home where you'll have to drop everything and possibly attend to it, and you still want to try to make money. Very important. Very honorable. Now first off, there are a few things which you want to keep in mind.

Let's start with what jobs you can't do. You can't do hourly base jobs. There's a lot of remote work opportunities, but I'm just talking about within remote work opportunities, you can't do hourly based work such as customer service or sales jobs where you can't just drop everything to take care of a customer's issue or to close a deal. You know you can't do that if you have a baby. If you're an entrepreneur, jobs, you can't do our social media marketing agency.

If you've seen Sam Ovens or Tai Lopez or heard of these guys, you can't start a social media marketing agency because that requires you to do sales and or customer service and it's important you're there when your clients are having issues so you can't do that sort of business. Other jobs you can't do if you're working at home with a baby are real estate, okay. Again, you have to show up for appointments. There are time constrictions on that. You can't do stock trading. Again, stock trading requires you to be on the ball or else you'll lose lots of money at. Another thing you can do is NLMor network marketing. Network marketing again is appointment based. You'll need to be there for your downline, whatever your customers, you know, your shows, etc., you can't drop everything. So what does that leave you with? That actually marks out a lot of stuff, but that does leave you with a lot of opportunities, some opportunities that you are left with one.

If you're going for jobs, you can do project-based jobs. Again project or performance-based jobs I'm talking about. You can do marketing commission only marketing jobs such as affiliate marketing. You can do Amazon, you can run an Amazon business and e-commerce business. Okay, but you need to do things, jobs or self-employment activities that are purely based on just online work or based on projects. Coding and development is also a great option. Now let's look at some websites where you can find some of these jobs.

So first off, if you know programming, you have a lot of options in the world and here's a website. I'm assuming most of you don't know programming, but I'm just starting with it Toptal or Toptal, I don't know how to pronounce things, is a site where you can find or post yourself as a freelance programmer, and they get great rates.

They work mainly with Americans, and you'll see the companies such as Airbnb, Zandesk, Pfizer, Hewlett Packard, massive fortune 500 companies. Hire talent from Toptal to work at home, and you can earn very respectable wages here. You can easily earn six figures per year if you learn some programming and learning programmings free too, so you don't need to spend any money to learn programming, and you can make six figures online working for a fortune 500 company. Really easy stuff, but let's say you don't have the time or you don't want to learn technical skills, whatever, that doesn't matter. It's fine.

Another great site to find freelance positions is up work, upwork.com and you'll see that right there and again, you can hire freelancers or post yourself as a freelancer. Now what you would do if you could scroll down somewhere on here. Basically, you'll see how it works, and you can sign up. If you're freelancing, you see that, and it says get hired, find rewarding projects and get hired quickly and you can do all this, and you can say ready to get hired. Apply as a freelancer right there at the bottom. Big Arrows. Now you can apply to work as a freelancer. This is if you want a job, again, the jobs on upwork, you'll want to make sure you sort for things that are project-based because you can't adhere to a certain hourly standard. No employer's going to want to hire somebody who drops everything to attend to a baby. I know I wouldn't, and I'm pretty lenient with people.

Other jobs you can do is you can actually be an entrepreneur. Being an entrepreneur is what I am and what I advocate everybody is would not work for the man. I think freelancing is the way to do everything. I believe everybody's a free agent. If you want to be an entrepreneur now that the areas I would suggest you go into are, you could go in and start an Amazon business. Also what I advocate and what I do is I do affiliate marketing. I traveled the world and do affiliate marketing, which is commission only marketing. It's basically online sales, and I recommend other people's products just like Expedia or Uber or hotels.com do they recommend people to go to hotels and they get a commission if somebody books a flight or a hotel for them. That's what I do. I recommend other people's products, and I make a commission for connecting people. And that's a very lucrative position for me. So we all need extra money, and in this video, I'll be going over some part-time job ideas for extra income, and I'll be speaking from experience here because I've tried them all

So head over with me to this board. Now I'll be discussing a few part-time job ideas from experience and also that I've heard friends do so that you can make extra money without having to start a whole new business without having to get you know, an actual job that you'll have to quit.

First and foremost, the best place to go to to find part-time jobs is Craigslist. Craigslist has a whole smattering. You can go to craigslist.org search it on the Internet. You can find a whole smattering of just jobs. People are willing to pay for moving stuff, you know, whatever's happening in your area. It's going to vary by place, but there's a lot of jobs on craigslist. Some other part-time jobs you can do to earn extra income, what I call Gig or the APP based jobs. Okay. And some of those are being an Uber driver.

Okay, Uber. Another great app that I personally use for all my ride shares is Lyft, okay. Lyft is another APP. Uber has Uber eats as well. Another one is task rabbit, okay. Task Rabbit is all sorts of jobs, cleaning, organizing, moving data, entry, acting, whatever is needed. There are a million jobs on there. Download these apps and start working on them. Here are a few more apps too Wag. Wag is an app where you can take dogs for walks. You can be a dog walker and make money by walking other people's dogs. I use wag because I don't have the time to walk my dog all the time. You know, I try to make my life as an entrepreneur, as efficient as possible and work on my computer. I spend time with my family. If I don't have time to walk my dog, I'm going to order somebody on Wag.

Another app is Rover. Rover is an app where you can pay somebody to pet sit your dog. Another one is, I use a lot of dog apps as you can tell. Another APP is dog vacay. Dog Vacay is pet sitting but at the person's house. So you know, I would drop off my dog at a neighbor's house, and you know, I'd pay him through dog vacay. There are other apps which you can find out about online or where you can hire personal trainers. There's one where you can hire massage therapists called Sooth. I know that one, I use that one, but there's a lot of app-based jobs which are almost all part-time. So if you live in the US or Canada, some of these are options. If you don't live in a big city in the US or these may not be options with the exception of Uber and Lyft, which are worldwide now. We are going to go to a few more jobs. But these are the app based jobs, and craigslist is just kind of a job board. You'll want to look under the gig section of craigslist to find jobs.

A few other good jobs you can do are what I call door to door sales. A door to door sales is one of the oldest jobs in America. And you can go to door selling products. You do it on your own schedule. If you can sell stuff, you can sell stuff anywhere. You can join a company such as Kirby Vacuum or you'll see people sell insurance door to door life insurance, auto insurance people sell cable tv door to door people sell security systems and pest control. Lawn mowing is a great thing if you're looking to mow people's lawns or if you're looking to trim people's trees, you can go door to door and sell your services by yourself.

You could just say, Hey, I have a lawnmower. I will mow your lawn. You know, if you pay me 20 bucks every week. Or You could join a company and just find a pest control or a security company or a cable TV company and ask them if you could go door to door selling for them, you know, to get customers, they'll give you money.

Another job is cold calling, oftentimes a part-time job. I started off, in college, I was working for a telemarketing company selling advertising services, something similar to the yellow pages. I was working for this company called National Positions. I don't think they're around anymore, but companies like the yellow pages and Reach Local sell, you know local advertising services. There are all sorts of companies you can work for that get business from cold calling and a part-time job.

Other jobs you can get catering. Being a caterer is a very part-time job. It's based on when people have big dinners that they need caters so you can talk to a local catering company in La. Wolfgang Puck is, it's the catering company that all of the movie studios and all of the big parties and events usually use to hire out their catering for, but in your local area you can find restaurants that have a demand for caterers, and you can ask them, you could say, Hey, do you need any people, you know, an extra hands on deck to help cater events that you work.

Other jobs are, this is a weird one. This is one that I did when I was just getting started in my business. I needed some extra income. Is being a medical Guinea pig. Generally speaking, you can't find a medical Guinea pig job everywhere. You can find a lot of them in Los Angeles, but I was a medical Guinea pig when I was young, and I was needing extra money. Generally speaking, get paid about $3,000 a week, two to $3,000 a week as a medical Guinea pig, depending on what you're doing. So you can make a lot of money as a medical Guinea pig. But again, you're working for what are called clinical trials. That would be the keyword to search clinical trials, and clinical trials are generally ordered from companies such as Merck, Pfizer, Johnson, and Johnson, etc. by the big billion dollar medical companies to test out their drugs on humans. And I was one of those human test subjects, and you make a lot of money doing it. So maybe that's why I'm crazy. Maybe that explains everything. So without any skills, you can get a job paying $10,000 a month, and most of the time you're just sitting around and having your blood drawn every hour or two. You know, that's what you do. Might be a little too weird for you.

Another job is being a movie extra. So if you live in areas such as Los Angeles, Toronto, Vancouver, Louisiana, Georgia, New York, Austin, etc., there are a lot of cities where there's demand, you know whenever there's film shoots or whatever, you can be a movie extra and make an extra hundred to $200 a day just for kind of standing around and being a person. That's a lot of fun. I remember I was in my teens when I was a movie extra as a movie extra during the summers, and I made a lot of money and just some extra money. It was boring, but meet a lot of cute girls there too. I was, random fact I was an extra on Entourage. I was an extra on the OSI show. I was an extra on the movie, Give them to the Greek and just a number of other things and Laguna beach too. So I was an extra on some of those shows. Which was a lot of fun? You don't really see me much. You might see my elbow or something in them. But, uh, that was, that was my claim to fame when I was younger.

I hope this gives you some extra ideas on how to earn extra money using part-time jobs. How Does Clickfunnels Work?

Have you ever heard of ClickFunnels? Have you wondered how Clickfunnels work?

What is Clickfunnels? I'm going to explain to you exactly what Clickfunnels is in this video. Now we're actually going to go through a little demonstration on my handy dandy computer here, and I'm going to show you how you can build a funnel and use Clickfunnels effectively to create an online business.

Clickfunnels, what is Clickfunnels? Clickfunnels is a whizzy wig site builder. What does that mean to you? That's actually the category of what it will be called. Wiziwig is an acronym. What you see is what you get, what you see is what you get, and that means you can build websites with it, site builders so that you don't have to be technical, you don't have to know a line of program, you don't have to know any languages, HTML, CSS, PHP, JS, swift, whatever. You don't need to know any of those other languages and you can literally just design sites based on what you see, which is great and it's a very valuable tool.

It's one I use almost every single day in my business. My business runs off of Clickfunnels. I was actually just a few days ago at the funnel hacking conference with a Russell Brunson, the founder of it, and I use Clickfunnels. And so do 75,000 other entrepreneurs are using Clickfunnels to build and host their websites. Great tool. So let me give you an idea of how to Clickfunnels work.

So the way it works is you designed what is called funnels. And what a funnel is, is a funnel is basically a sales message or a marketing message. So I'll design a funnel right here. So let's say I want to help people lose weight. My ultimate goal is to sell a weight loss product. I want people to buy this ebook I have on how to lose weight, let's call it the Crestani Diet. Okay? And I have a book about why the Crestani Diet is so good.

So I have a book, okay? And we'll call this the offer. And this is the Crestani Diet, and it's $19 for the Crestani Diet. Now to get people to buy the Crestani died. I can't simply go to Facebook and say, Hey, I have this book for $19 you want to buy it? Because people need to be convinced why the Crestani diet is so good in the first place. Just taking a book Crestani diet, It doesn't sell itself. Nothing sells itself. There was never an instance where a man walks into a bar, and suddenly 10 women were asking him to go on a date. Unless you're Brad Pitt that doesn't happen. Okay but you have to sell yourself almost in any case. So in order to sell this Crestani Diet, I'm going to start with a bribe. Okay? I'm going to start with, let's call it an options page, and I'm going to write something along the lines of enter your email and find out the seven foods that are most often genetically modified and why they're making you fat.

Okay? So it's something like this, you know, we're having them enter their email and seven foods because people want to get the free report on the seven foods that are genetically modified most off and why those make you fat. After people enter their email, we might send them to a page that says, that is a video message that says how you can fix your diet. Okay, and this is our VSL. Then we'll give them a video. We'll say, here are the seven foods and here's how to identify them and here's how to eat better. And after people learn about those seven foods that make them fat, then we'll say the way to eat better is the Crestani Diet. And we have a $20 book, which will show you everything about how to look your best, right. We had a hook, we had them enter their email, we deliver on the hook. We tell them the seven foods that are making them fat, and then we tell them how to get skinny for $20. Okay, so that would be a funnel.

Let's go on Clickfunnels and actually design it. Let's put it into action, and I'll show you how actually to use it. So here we are on Clickfunnels and Clickfunnels. It's an online software. It's run by this guy, Russell Brunson, and this is one of his partners. So these two guys run Clickfunnels. And as you see, Clickfunnels gives you everything you need to market, sell and deliver your products and services online. It's a great, great program. Now you can get started with a 14-day free trial through, there should be a link in the description if you want to get started building your own Clickfunnels. So look in the description of my youtube video, and I'll link you to this page to get started on a free trial to see what it's about.

Keep watching because I'm going to show you how to use it in this video. So what it helps you do is, you know, talks, generate leads, sell products, run a Webinar, all the online marketing stuff. It's basically marketing without having to know any technical skills. Let's get off of this now. When we go inside Clickfunnels, the way Clickfunnels actually works after 14 days. It's $97 a month. You're running a business. It's basically the foundation of what you'll need to run an online business. But let's actually start now to start using Clickfunnels. When you log in, they have all these advertisements they call their tribe to funnel hackers, one funnel way challenge, etc. But we'll go up here where it says Clickfunnels and where it says funnels, this is the main area and what we'll do, we will go, as you see, I'm on the more expensive plan.

This is their top plan. It's $300 a month. If we want to get started, we'll click add new funnel. So as you see, I have a lot of funnels in here, but we'll create a new one. So I'm just going to say I'm going to click this side on the right because you don't have to pay any money. You know, they'll try to like sell you funnels here, but you can just click create a new funnel. We're going to collect an email first. So see, you could say sell your product host Webinar. We're just going to say collect emails. We'll say demo, diet, email option. Okay, so I named it. I click build a funnel. So here we go. And we can select a couple of different templates. Here you see there's a bunch of different templates and let's say, I don't know, this one looks pretty good.

Mother funnel squeeze page. So let's click select template right there. So see it's creating our page. And what we will do is we will click this button, which says edit page and to start editing it. So I clicked edit, and here we go. So now the way Clickfunnels works is you just click on something, and you edit it. I'll say, discover the seven genetically modified foods you're eating that make you fat and how you can avoid them. Great. And it says, grab my free report, and then we'll just see. We just click on it. All we're doing is clicking on it, and I'm just going to edit the text. See, it's just like, it's just like using a word processor. So I'm just going to click here. I'm going to click delete, and I'm going to say enter your email to get the free report immediately.

Okay, send it to me. Now we can delete these other sections. See, we can just highlight over them and see they kind of highlight them in green. And what we're gonna do is we're going to click that little trashcan icon. We're going to click delete, we're going to click delete, and we're going to click delete. And it says in this video you are going to discover amazing weight loss secrets hidden until now. And we're going to say, you know, in this video you discover what foods are genetically modified, how to identify them, and how to avoid them. Now we have our page, and we're just going to click save right there. Click save and boom! We have the first page of our funnel. Pretty cool, right? Okay, let's go on next. So I'm going to click exit right there.

Now, the next thing I'm going to do is I want to go into a video sales letter type page because we need a sell people on why they need to, you know, we need to deliver on our promise and show him how we actually help them lose weight. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to highlight this, and I'm going to click this x icon right there because I'm going to get rid of this thank you page delete. Then I'm going to click add new step right here. You see that add a new step. Then I'm going to say VSL because VSL stands for a video sales letter. And then I'm going to come up here and see they have different sections for the funnels. If you see where my mouse is, so they have all these different sections. Now what we're, I'm interested is in sales right there. So I'm going to click sales, and it says sales page. So I'm going to select sales page right there, and we're going to select a template with a VSL. So we, it just says VSL traditional. I'm going to slack. Say, select template and boom!

Then I have a VSL, and then I would write in that VSL. I'm not going to go to the extent of shooting a video and all that stuff. Add a new step, and then I'll name this the order form and this will be where they can actually buy my product. That's the order form where they can buy my ebook that I've sold them in that VSL, that video message. So it says submitting and we'll wait for it. And here's where I'll get into an actual order form. So we can see option sales, and we see the order form. See right under sales there's an order form type page and we'll click that, and now it will show us order form templates. Let's select this template mother funnel Webinar. Okay select. It's building our funnel and let's see this. Now we have a page which we could change and again, to change that page, all we have to do is click edit page, and we have to select the texts that we want to edit, and we have to change it around and we can change the price to $19 and all that jazz.

Now, once we've actually created our funnels, selling whatever imaginary product we're doing or with whatever purpose is collecting emails so we can market to people, the next step after that is we have to integrate it. So in this case, we're collecting people's emails. So this is where it gets a little bit complicated. I personally, in my business, I advocate, people, don't collect emails. I tell people to do affiliate marketing and don't worry about collecting emails because it starts getting a little bit more complicated when you have to integrate all these different things. I recommend people use Clickfunnels, but don't mess with any of the integrations. If you subscribed to my channel, you'd get the free course and affiliate marketing on my channel page. Now to integrate it. I'm just going to show you real quickly integrating things. You'd go back to edit page, and what you would do, you'd go to settings, and you'd go to integrations right here, and this is where you would handle the integrations with your email.

So you'd Click integrations and then you would select whatever autoresponder it is you're using. Now you might have to write in to support, you might have to write into things to actually figure out how to integrate it. That's beyond the scope of this video. And you can go into the Clickfunnels, help desk to learn how to do this. But basically you would link up one of your programs, whether it's Mailchimp or a Weber or whatever, um, that handles your email. And then you'd integrate it just like, you know, add to list and you know, John Crestani, whatever, select a couple of things like that. It's not too complicated. But again, I'm not going to go into the specifics of how you do integrations. That information is on Clickfunnels. Now after you build your Clickfunnels, you would exit, and all you would have to do is simply you have your URL, and you'd take your URL and share it with people so that they could go visit the site as well.

So what I'll do is I'll just click copy, and I could share that URL with anybody on the Internet. And as you'll see, it'll load up, and it will show my website, discover the seven genetically modified foods you're eating that make you fat and how you can avoid them. And I can use that to get people on my email list to sell my ebook to do whatever I want very simply. It's not complicated. And what's amazing is that we all have this power. This is a 24 seven living, breathing salesperson for you. That's what a website is it's a 24 seven living, breathing salesperson that can sell anything you want. And you have the power to do this. You can start a business so easily selling products. This is what I do every day, and my website just sells products for me while I kind of, I don't know, mess around, and you know, think I'm, you know, cool soccer player and mess up my knee or try to be a fun dad.

So you're listening to is Tai Lopez. He listened to Sam Ovens, and they're telling you to start a Facebook ad agency. Okay. Now I've started a Facebook ad agency, and my Facebook ad agency grew to over 140 employees, and I'm going to tell you exactly how you can start a Facebook ad agency and grow it in this video. Let's do it.

Facebook ads, they've treated me really well. I've been doing them since 2011, and I've made a lot of money as both an agency and as an affiliate marketer using Facebook ads, so really, really love him. Now I started the agency, but with my partner, Steve Weiss who has gone on and I don't work with him anymore, but he rebranded the agency is mute six, and he's grown it to over 140 employees. It's the best Facebook marketing agency around right now. Now I'm going to go over some techniques of how you can build your own Facebook marketing agency using the tactics that Steve and I used to grow our agency.

Now, the first step is you need to either be an expert or you need to find an expert in Facebook advertising, okay. To be an expert, you can go through a lot of courses, but really I would suggest if you need to get your hands dirty so you could work for another company, worked for another agency such as Mute Six and learn Facebook ads from you know, people who are masters of it, doing it every day. Experience is the best teacher of them all. Or You could find an expert and just mark up their services.

Now when you're marking up somebody else's services as an ad agency in general, you should be seeking to do a hundred percent markup of whoever's services you are selling. Okay? Hundred percent markup. So if they're charging $20 an hour, you are selling their services for $40 an hour. If the person is charging $50 an hour, you are marking up your services to charge $100 an hour. That's as an agency standard practice is your mark up by 100% that might sound a lot, but the rest of the money needs to be used for operations. It needs to be used for office space, and rent needs to be used for equipment insurance, legal fees, lead generation, marketing meetings, conferences, boothing. There are a million things involved in starting an agency, so just make sure don't short change yourself.

You should only ever be marking up people's Labor and time at 100% if you're running an agency. The second step is you need to identify where your clients are. Okay. Identify where they are and where they are going. Where are they currently going for help? Now for Facebook ads, I'll tell you from experience, there are a few places people are going for really any marketing help, and I'm going to list out a couple. I'm not going actually to draw it on the board, but you can just pause the video or replay this section. I'm going to go through them okay.

One is Quora, Quora, Q U O R A people usually pretty smart people who run businesses are asking questions on Quora. It's a question and answers search engine, and you can find people that are asking questions. They're saying, how do I make my Facebook ads profitable? How do I advertise on ad words? How do I do whatever? And you can go in, and you can just answer people's questions for them. The same thing with Yahoo answers, but Quora team seems to attract a really high falutin type of, you know, business owner and investor type person. You know so you can go Quora, answer a bunch of questions, you'll get authority on there, and it will come back to you and clients. I remember we got, you know, some clients for my agency at the time, from just people finding our answers on Quora and saying, you sound like a smart individual. I want to pay you money to manage my ads.

Another place people go to to find information about subjects is youtube. Youtube is fantastic. If you put up how to videos, how to advertise on Facebook, how to advertise on Facebook's for e-commerce companies, how to advertise on Facebook for lead generation companies. How did it make, take advantage of the lead forms on Facebook, how to take advantage of the Facebook messenger chat box. These are all the videos you could post. You could show off your expertise, and people will naturally be attracted to you like flies sorry, like bees are attracted to honey or whatever so that you can get more leads and more clients just by identifying them and addressing their problems.

Another place is forums. Okay. There's a lot of forums on the Internet where people, their niche forums, usually you have to dig around and search and find him, but a lot of people have a lot of tribes. I have my own tribe of affiliate marketers. If you're selling a business opportunity, you could go in there and try to sell it to them. My forums closed off because I don't want people doing that, but the point is there are forums and Facebook groups where people ask questions about Facebook ads.

My friend Tim Bird, for instance, he runs a Facebook ad agency and what he did to get clients as he started a Facebook group called, Facebook ad buyers. That group now has over 80,000 people that buy ads on Facebook that have joined his group to learn how to buy ads better on Facebook. Now. Sure some of those 80,000 people are probably, employees are probably just messing around on the Internet trying to find ad tactics. But there are a lot of clients there. And if you just say one out of every hundred people in that group runs a business doing Facebook ads, it's over 800 potential clients. He has an endless, and it's much more than that for him. He has an endless supply of potential clients for his business, and since he started the group and he moderates it, he is the authority on all things Facebook and related within his group. Great Strategy.

Another way is help desks. Okay, so if you, let's say you salesforce or infusion soft, different CRMs, you know, different CRM or even Facebook ads. If you go on Facebook ads, you'll see there's, you know, you can usually write comments, or people post up questions. If people are asking questions about Facebook ads, you can answer their questions on help desks. Again, part of this is about, you know, where are your customers going when they are in pain when they're looking for answers to these things. Other places can be business associations or business meetings or conferences.

Such as, I was just at this conference called funnel hacking live. It's for people, users of click funnels. They're 5,000 people there that many of them advertise on Facebook because we're all running marketing, largely ad, you know, online advertising related businesses. So a lot of us are looking for help with Facebook ads. I hired three Facebook ad agencies at that conference. Okay. So just because there are other Facebook ad agencies at someplace, it doesn't meet her mean there aren't people like me who will just go to a conference. I literally just went there to find more ad agencies to hire because I figured if somebody is there, somebody attends this conference, they're smart, they're looking to learn, they're involved in the community. They're used to working with click funnels, and they'll need to know how to work with click funnels if they also want to do my Facebook advertising. Great Place.

But you know, for instance, other CRMs, I will say sales force or other, you know, infusion soft salesforce and infusion soft or a CRM that focus on either company that have sales floors or companies that have, you know, like marketing operations. And if a company has a sales floor or a marketing operation, they are a direct response company, and they measure dollars in dollars out, or they have a significant presence, and they have a lot of money to spend on advertising. So those are great places to go.

Now once you've identified where your people are, what you want to do is you want to give value. Okay, this is the nature of the world is if you give it, if you give value, it will come back to you. But again, don't be egotistical and try to give value to people who don't want it. Part of this, what we did in identifying is we're trying to identify where people want to learn more about Facebook ads or where they want that now to give value. Ways you can do that is, I sort of answered it in number two is answering their questions, answering their help desk questions going on there and just saying, hey man, here's how you would optimize that ad campaign more.

If somebody said, you know, posted in that Facebook group I mentioned and they said, here are my stats in my ad campaign. I can't tell how to lower my cost per lead anymore. Can you give me anybody here give, give an insight into what I could do to better advertise? And if you write a really good response and tell them exactly how they can lower their costs and increase their business, maybe that guy will hire you. Maybe he won't. Maybe, other people who view that post and view your answer, we'll hire you. It's a way of putting yourself out there and helping others okay. And it's not sales because you're putting your best foot forward.

Other ways are you know, if you if you're doing speaking if you're speaking at local meetups, you know, one thing I did was around LA. I would, there's a lot of different meetings every single night, you know, in my area, which is the tech, I live in Malibu now, but it's very close to the tech community there and a lot of business or trying to find more users and more installs and more customers and people there.

There are a lot of meetups about how to do marketing. So I would speak at some of those, and I just go, you know, I'd speak, and I'd say, Hey, here are the five things you need to know to get more results out of your Facebook ads without spending an extra dollar. And people would suck it up. And you know, I'd get some clients out of that because people would say, hey, that's smart. I have more money than time. And I'd rather just give you my money and for your time to do this for me.

I'd say one of the best ways, and this is a staple of what I did, is in terms of giving value, probably the most powerful way to really close a client is just go in, get access to their Facebook account and do an audit. Okay just say, I will do a free audit. I'll do a free run through of everything you need to do to make your Facebook account better. Or just say, hey, let's meet up at, if you're close, you know, say let's meet up at a coffee shop, and I'll look at your Facebook account and see if I have any ideas of how you can, you know, do it better. That's the best approach. That's what my partner did, you know, and he closed really big deals but going about it that way and just leading with your best foot forward and giving a lot of value with a free audit is, you know, getting in somebody's account is always the best way to do things. Especially if you link your accounts and then you do an audit that is a layup. That's the easiest way to close a deal. And also it puts you, you know, it, it, you give them value.

You know, some people might say, hey, thanks. If you approach everything without that desperation, you're like, I want to close a deal. If you just do it, kind of like, okay, like maybe this one will go, maybe this one won't. And you give somebody, you know, a couple page write up on what they can do to improve their business. I mean that's phenomenal. That's phenomenal and not enough people are doing that anymore. And you give them a writeup up, and you say, Hey, let your own team implemented. Or if you don't want, if you want our team to implement it, you know, we can talk about pricing, but you know, you leave it in their court to say, hey, hope that helped. You know, you're a cool guy running a cool business. Let's you know, if you want any more info, hit me up and you know, put together a package for you.

Leave it like that. Never, never, never go into that hard closing. I'd least that's always been my style is really make it “buddy buddy”. And you know, I even liked, you know, if I was going to do deals, hang out, you know, get a beer. You know you don't, things don't need to be formal. Things don't need to be like closing people in a conference room. If you're trying to close a big client for your Facebook ad agency, go to a cigar lounge and just smoke cigars and you know, chat and chat about, you know, how kids are crazy, and you know, politics is nuts and you know, and say, Oh yeah, I like you, you like me, let's do business together, very chummy.

Another very powerful way to get yourself out there, and this is probably the most powerful way, is case studies. If you post up case studies, if you post up, let's say a two page write up of, Hey, here's where a Facebook account I was looking at was before I started working at it. And you say, you know, their cost per sale was, you know, it took them $20 to get a new customer and it, you know, the average customer value was $30, and it costs them, you know, and they were spending $10,000 a month and their ads were getting a 3% click-through rate, whatever you're talking about, you lay out what their advertising looked like before you came in in one page, and then in the second page of a pdf or whatever, you lay out how they're advertising looked after you went in and changed around things and you talk about what you did to get that result that blows the socks off of people.

People will read through case studies all day long because you're showing people real results. Now, one of the reasons people subscribe to my channel is because I actually go in on my computer and I show people how to do advertising. I don't just talk about it like I'm doing here. And by the way, if you want more videos, if you want to see some really cool videos on some actual advertising being done live, I'm going to have my assistant throw up a link here, to a playlist I have called the art of copywriting. Now the art of copywriting is with my friends Carlos Cruz and Ronnie Sandlin actually riding ads and advertising them live. They're kind of long videos, but the really exciting, if you want to get into affiliate marketing for instance, but giving value with case studies and audits is, I would say the most powerful thing.

John Crestani answers “How to Quit My Job And Start My Own Business”

Hey, so I'm going to go over in this video how to quit your job and start your own business. And I have three S's to kind of guide you on how to do this.

So these are the three s's to quitting your job and starting your own business. And I'm making these three S's as shorthand to help you get started. Just a little primer about me. I quit my job back in 2012, and I started my own business by 2015 my business was doing over a million dollars per year and at this point in 2019 which is where we're at now. My business does roughly half a million dollars per month. Last year my business did around $5 million. So point being you can do it, it's very possible, and I'm going to show you the best way.

How so the first ‘S' is save. When you're thinking about quitting your job and starting your own business, start saving. Okay, you want to hope for the best of course, but prepare for the worst. Have you heard that line? Hope for the best. Prepare for the worst because the fact of the matter is, as an entrepreneur, income is like this okay. When you're working a job, income is a steady line. You're always making that same amount of money per month. Now you can make far greater amounts of money as an entrepreneur, but it's; still, you're going to have high months and you're going to have low months and working for yourself is not consistent.

Now, what I did when I started thinking about quitting my job, what happened was I went to ask my boss for a raise. It was June 2012 I had added an extra hundred thousand dollars a month in profitability to my bosses company. I was working directly under my boss at an ad agency, and I believed, okay, I added an extra hundred thousand dollars in profitability per month. It's probably a good time to ask for a raise or some sort of incentive plan or bonus plan or equity plan or something, right? I ask for that raise, and I remember, you know, I justified everything. I laid everything out for him. I, you know, I had spreadsheets, I'd everything to justify my value to the company, and I remember him saying, “Or what?”. He just stared at me, and I was quiet, but I just, I can tell you I wanted to reach across the desk and freakin' strangle that old man. It was so annoying. I'd added so much value. It was very annoying, and that's when I decided I need to start saving. So live frugally as possible and save as much money.

The second ‘S' is strategizing. Part of the strategy for running your own business if you want to make at least 50% more than what you were making at your job. Okay. Because once again, entrepreneurship has highs and lows and the tides can shift the amount of money you're making. You know, I've gone from in my business making six figures, you know, hundreds of thousands of dollars per month to losing money in a single month. That's the difference a single month has made in my business just because of changing business situations.

So things can change very dramatically. Or if you're doing a business where you're very reliant on one client or one, you know, marketing strategy or one sales strategy or you know, certain government law things can change very quickly. So you want to strategize. My rule of thumb is 1.5 times whatever you're making. If you're making $5,000 a month, you want to be making at least seven and a half thousand dollars a month on your own before you quit your job. If you are making $10,000 a month, you want to be making at least $15,000 a month on your own because again, things are not as consistent.

And if you couple that with saving, you know that's a really good situation to really allow yourself to be running your own business for the long term because what isn't a good situation is quitting your job. Something happens in your first couple of months as an entrepreneur, and you lose some of your income and then having to go back to work three months later, and it happens. It happens all the time. It's because people didn't save because people didn't strategize. So keep that in mind.

When I was working my job, what I did was I was making $6,000 a month at my job. I didn't quit until I was making $10,000 a month on the side. Does that make sense? So outside of my job, outside of my nine to five job, I was making $10,000 a month income. I'm working mornings and nights basically. You know, the way I did that was I was running an ad agency at the time, you know my own, you know, I was freelancing, I was working at an ad agency, and I was freelancing managing Google ads words accounts. And what I did was at nights I went to places where I'd find these high-end clients would hire expensive freelancers. That's what I did. And I service their accounts at nights too. So I was constantly trying to do this and make this money so that I could quit. But again, I didn't quit until I was making quite a bit more than what my job was paying me. And that gave me that buffer.

So third ‘S' stands for start. And this is probably the most important thing is what's funny is after I decided I was going to quit my job, I actually decided that month June 2012 after I had that horrible conversation with my boss where he said, or what I had decided that I'm going to quit. Now, what's funny is there's so much paralysis. I was so scared to quit my job because I knew, you know, in the back of my mind, you know, and everybody wants you to work a job, right. Your friends, your family. You know, you have coworkers. It's a big deal when you quit a job. You know, there's a lot of things that go with it. And for months I just let the decision linger. I was scared actually to do anything about it. But what you've got to do it.

It didn't change until I actually went to this Tony Robbins event called a Unleash the Power within and this was in August, so a couple months later and you know he, he does this thing called the Dickens Process where he has you imagine what your life is going to be like and you can do this right now is imagine what your life is going to be like. If you don't quit your job a year from now, then imagine what your life is going to look like. If you don't quit your job five years from now, that imagine what your life is going to be like if you don't quit your job 25 years from now. You know it's a, it's a visualization exercise, and I did this nice. I realized my life is going to be nothing like what I want it to be. You know, if I, for me it wasn't just quitting my job, it was just working a job not being my own employer, and I realized I just needed to do it, and I could delay this decision. I could delay it for months. I could delay it for years. And it's very easy to delay quitting your job, but you got to do it at some time. And the thing was just start, and you figure stuff out, but you just have to start at some point.

That's the hardest decision to make. But once I started, things fell into place. What's funny is after I quit my job I was making, I went from making $6,000 a month in my job to after I quit, I was making $30,000 a month, you know, working for myself and I was 23 at the time. So once you really do it, things can fall in place. You know, just a little encouragement from me to you is if you're going at it from a good place to it, you know, you have to make that decision. You have to start somewhere.

So in this video, I'll be showing you how you can manage an online business successfully, especially if you're working for yourself. And I'll be relating to your stories about exactly how I do it for my business, which is currently doing $4 million per year.

Woo. Managing an online business is not easy, especially when you're working for yourself because guess who is your own worst enemy, your self. And when it comes to managing yourself, it can be one of the hardest things to do in your life. Being an entrepreneur is hard because you have nobody there to call you on your stuff and to tell you to keep doing what you're supposed to be doing and not to do things that are going to take you away from those profits and those revenues that you're trying to create. Now, I'm going to be going over four distinct things that I do in my business that has allowed me to grow to do millions of dollars per year. You know, ever since I think my first year doing seven figures was a 2013 and every year since then I've run a multimillion-dollar business. The first trick to managing your online business successfully is measuring your time.

Now, this may seem totally counter-intuitive because the reason you probably want to start your own businesses so that you can just be free and be like a little, you know, wildflower hippy and not ever watch over where to do whenever, you know, you just kind of let it go. I don't want to get a coffee. Or, I want to go to the bar or whatever.

Measuring your time as the most important thing you can do in your business. I keep a spreadsheet in my business when I don't do it all the time, but whenever, you know, especially when I'm getting started or when my revenues are struggling, what I always come back to is I start measuring my time, and I do it in five minute increments, roughly where I write down on a spreadsheet where I spent each roughly five minute period of my time.

So if I work on an activity for 30 minutes, let's say I am designing a new ad on Photoshop, I write down designing a new ad on Photoshop 30 minutes, and I do that throughout the entire day. You will be astounded at how much time you lose each day to complete and utter nonsense. Okay, it's true. Scrolling around on dicking around on Facebook. I'm just going to call it like it is, don't dick around on Facebook. If you want to make money and be a serious entrepreneur, you are stronger than that. You have more willpower than Mark Zuckerberg or all the other minions that are on Facebook, don't let yourself fall into that trap. Have Willpower. My grandparents fought the Nazis. All you have to do is not dick around on Facebook, okay? So I do then is I'll actually put an asterisk or I'll bold the items that actually create that directly correlate to making me money.

Now for me as an affiliate marketer, which by the way, if you want to learn more about what affiliate marketing is and you know the basics of affiliate marketing, I'm going to have my assistant put up a card or put up a link to free course I have on affiliate marketing here, but as an affiliate marketer, I have to be launching ads. I have to be creating ads and launching campaigns on Facebook, Google, Youtube. Now, if I'm not putting up advertising or optimizing advertising, then I am not doing the activity that makes me money plain and simple. Judging by that, I spend a lot of time not doing advertising, which is not good. I can find ways to justify that I'm working on my business. I can say I'm learning or I'm researching or I am talking to somebody who may be important. Whatever the point is, what creates my money, the revenue is launching ads.

If you're doing sales, you are only doing a valuable activity. If you are calling somebody or if you are meeting with somebody to close a deal. If you are a programmer, you are only doing your activity. That's going to help you make money if you are doing the program. So make sure to measure your time and do so for a week. If I challenge you to do so for a week and write in the comments. If you accept my challenge to measure your time for a week, okay, measure your time as an entrepreneur or whatever you're doing, measure your time for a week, see where it goes, see how much gets wasted it's unbelievable.

The second tip to managing your online business is knowing and measuring your KPIs. Now, if you don't know what KPIs are, KPI is, it's business management term called key performance indicator. So key performance indicator for me is how many ads did I launch? How many new campaigns did I launch this week? If I'm launching five campaigns a week, I'm doing a good job. Oh, another person, it might be, how many proposals did you send? How many calls did you make? How many products did you list on Amazon? How many products did you list on your Shopify store? It could be any number of things, but a key performance indicator is something that's in your control. It's in your control to influence the more in control to influence the better. Launching ads is a KPI for me because it is within my control. Making a cold call, reaching out to somebody, a prospect, close the deal. KPI within your control. An example of a KPI that is not in your control would be how much money you make? You know, how much, how many profits did you make or how many, appointments.

Now, how many appointments you schedule is within your control. I would say how many, how much profits did you make or how many profitable ads did you launch? That is not a KPI because it's not necessarily within your control okay. It depends on if your ad is profitable. Launching ads is within your control. Putting up youtube videos for me is a KPI. I need to be putting up a youtube video a day. I want to be influential in this world. I want to make an impact. I want my story out there, so I need to put up a video a day, and that's something I control. Whether the video is good or not, I don't know. But the point is that's a KPI that's within my control. I know it, and I measure it. It's very easy. Know, your KPI's measured them. If you're an entrepreneur.

Tip number three for managing your online business has a master spreadsheet for everything, okay. It could be another tab. Maybe you know you have a spreadsheet in one tab is you know, your time measurement. Maybe another tab is your KPI, you know, whatever that KPI is. You know, maybe you're, maybe you're doing sales, and you're just calling. People are, you know, you started an ad agency, or you're launching ads. You know, you write down each of those campaigns. Maybe the next tab has a master spreadsheet with your expenses in it. What are you spending on your business? Are you are investing in a program? You know, I have a six-week program. If you're doing affiliate marketing, but there are other training courses, you know, step by step things which you can get in really any business, social media, marketing, Amazon FBA, Shopify, drop shipping, etc.

That's an investment. Make sure to mark that down if you're spending money on other things. If you're spending money on, let's say you're starting an ad agency and you just got a whole new wardrobe so you can look like money when you go out and meet with clients, that's an expense, write it down. You know this is all expenses. How much money have you spent in your business? How much money are you making? How much revenue? Write it all down. Keep a spreadsheet of everything you're making, everything you're spending and keep your numbers insight. You know, I have a spreadsheet every single month is a row okay. Generally speaking, time is a row, so I'll do January, and I'll have all of the different numbers. For January, I'll do February, I'll know of all of my different numbers for February, I'll do March of all the different numbers for March. Generally, time goes down, you know on the spreadsheet, it's unlike the left side, and you know the months and your metrics are the different columns.

What I look at is I look at not just, you know, how many sales am I making or how much commissions am I earning or how much am I spending. I'm also looking at month over month increase. Did I launch more campaigns this month versus last month? You know, so I do a little excel formula for that. It's very easy. You know you can look that up on a different video. There are tons of excel videos out there. You know, but I say, did I do more this month or did I do less? Did I make more money in affiliate commissions this month or did I make less? Did I make more money in sales this month or did I make less? I look at all these different numbers, and I figure out where my time went, where my money went, where my money came from, and you know, if I was in my KPIs, and I have it all in a spreadsheet so I know exactly what's going on in my business every single month I update the master spreadsheet on a monthly basis so I can get an idea of what I'm doing and where I'm going. If you want to treat yourself like a business, this is what you do. My KPI sheet, I update daily every single day I'm, I need just be spending time launch ads that's what I do.

So the fourth tip I have for managing your online business is actually I believe the biggest paradigm shift in the management of this century almost, and it's, it's one of the biggest shifts is agencies. You can hire an agency for everything. In the olden days, you used to have to hire employees to do anything you want. Do you want to support? You have to hire an employee to handle your support. Do you want to do marketing? You have to hire an employee to do marketing, you want sales, you have to hire a salesperson, you want to do accounting, you have to hire an accountant. That's all wrong. That's all gone away. You don't need any employees anymore, and I'm a living testament to that.

I run a very large business and not a very large business. It's actually a very small business in the scheme of things, but the point being, I run a, let's call it a significant business and I have zero employees. The reason why is because I have agencies that do everything for me. I have an agency that runs my support. I have an agency that does my accounting. I have an agency that does my bookkeeping. I hired another agency that does my tax planning. I've seven agencies that run ads for me. I have four agencies that do my social media marketing for me. All in all, I probably have about 15 separate agencies that work for me. I have no employees and agencies are very easy to work with. You know you don't have to worry about workers' comp cases. If somebody gets injured, you have to get worker's comp insurance, so you don't have to worry about, you know, paying their taxes.

You don't have to worry about all these different things that come with having employees. You don't have to get office space, you don't have to get them the Internet, you don't have to buy them all computers. You shut down your costs so much, and you allow yourself to be free to focus on whatever it is, the main things you are about your business. And I believe every business should be focused on whatever their product or their services. That's something only you can do, or maybe it's marketing, you know, it allows you to focus on ads. But the point being, I have about 15 agencies that work for me, and I keep them all on a spreadsheet. Regards to my traffic agencies helped me manage Google, Facebook, youtube, Twitter, Instagram, snapchat ads for my business. They're all on a spreadsheet, and I just see, I see whether they're good or bad every single month.

And if they don't do good and if they don't make me money, I fire. They do good. I hired them, and I ask if they have any friends who do stuff that they recommend. It's very easy, but you can manage your business very simply for spreadsheets, and that's all you need. That's all you need, and you know exactly where you are in your business. But beyond a doubt, you need the very first starting spot. If you don't, aren't making any money in your business, measure your time. If you're just learning, measure your time. If you haven't even started your business yet or decided on what you wanted to do, measure your time. If you're not measuring your time, you're letting it get away from you and not treating yourself seriously. And once you know what your business is, start measuring your KPIs and just docking their say you need to make 25 cold calls a day.

If you want to hit your numbers, whatever that is. No, and measure your KPIs as you started getting revenues and expenses, you know all that other stuff. Maintain a master spreadsheet, and as you start really growing and you need to hire people, you need to outsource certain activities in your business. You can start a spreadsheet to manage all of the agencies that you hire.

Hey, so if you're looking to start affiliate marketing and you are a complete beginner, first of all, I recommend you do check out my introduction series to affiliate marketing, but in this video, I'm going to be showing you exactly how to get started. We're going to be doing a couple things here. We're going to be one. The first part of affiliate marketing is joining an affiliate network, and this is where you find products you can sell or linked to and make commissions from the first step. The second step is you want to find a product, a specific product that you can sell on the Internet that you resonate with and that you can make money with. So that's going to be our second thing. The third thing that we're going to do is we're going actually to go out there and sell it. Now, if you are a serious action taker, I recommend going through all these steps in this video, and actually, you can start earning your first commissions right now if you just take these steps.

So let's get on my computer, and I'll show you everything step by step, so you know what you're getting into. So here I am and if we Google just affiliate networks, for instance, we'll find a bunch of results, will find a ton, and we'll see if we just look up the for top 10 affiliate networks that aren't, Amazon will see a ton of affiliate networks. We see Clickbank, JVzoo, Giddyup, share sale. How do you decide what to join?

Now if you're on Amazon right here, as you see, I'm on amazon.com okay, we'll scroll down to the bottom of the page and what we see is in the footer it says, make money with us. Okay, right there, and you'll see there's a lot of ways you can make money with Amazon selling private label brands, business, etc. But what we're interested in becoming an affiliate. Now, that's what we're going to start with right there. So when we click on this, we'll see profit from our experience earn up to 10% advertising fees with a trusted e-commerce leader.

Join now for free. Okay, so very easy to join and start selling stuff on Amazon. See it says join, advertise, earn, and basically, you'll just want to join. And one of the things it will ask you for is it will ask you to put in a website. Now, do you have a Facebook profile? My guess is yes, or if you don't, you can create a Facebook profile for free. That's your website. Okay. Very easy. Also, you know, I've heard of some people just putting in random websites that have a lot of visitors in their niche and I guess Amazon doesn't check, but keep in mind your youtube channel, you can set up a youtube channel for free, your Facebook profile is free and you can set these things up and use them as your website.

Okay, very easy. Now Amazon, you don't make a lot of money for purposes of demonstration. I could, you know, say I'm selling this book Anthem, which is about $20 book. If you are in 10% of that, what are you making? Two Bucks. You're not going to become a millionaire selling recommending books to people unless you're making more than 10%.

So the affiliate network that I really like is called clickbank, and you can see Clickbank right here. There's a lot of affiliate networks, but Clickbank is the most trustworthy and the oldest affiliate network around, it's been around for 21 years. It's based in Boise, Idaho. And this is the network that I made my first commissions on. Many people have made their first commissions on, and it's also been the affiliate network that I currently make most of my money with. Now, if we click here affiliate marketplace right there, we'll see all of the products that you can sell on a commission only basis.

So let's click this search icon right here and see how many products we can find. Okay? Now you'll see there are other over 4,500 products in the marketplace. Let's zoom in. So this gives you a lot of options of what do you want to sell, okay, what do you want to sell to make a lot of money? Then, you'll see, they tell you how much money you'll make. If somebody buys what you're selling as an affiliate, you see $37 if you sell this $56 if you sell this $41 if you sell this, there's a lot of money to be made selling these different products. Now to find something you resonate with, you kind of want to choose what I recommend. I personally sell business opportunity type products. But what I recommend you do is let's just get started on Amazon. Okay as I said, the way you make big money is with another affiliate network outside of Amazon.

But let's just get started with Amazon for the time being for demonstration purposes. Is that okay? Is that okay? Okay, cool. Sorry, I didn't hear you there for a second. So back to Amazon. Now I'm going to go to amazon.com and once again, let's say I want to start off with advertising this book NFM which is a book I'm reading right now. It's a really good book, and we're going to search this on Amazon and look it up. So we'll see. Okay, well it's $9, okay $9 right here. So I'm going to click on the book. And what you'll see is when you're accepted for an affiliate network, you see this little bar, it says Amazon associates site stripe right here. This is where I'll get my affiliate link. So what I'll do is I'll click get link text right there, and you'll see it says text link created below.

Now, this is my affiliate link which I will use to sell this book. This is the link. People need to click on this link and buy the book, and I make money. Okay, does that make sense? People Click on this link, they buy the book, and I make money so we can look at the full link here. I'm not going to go into the full what the full link is basically the link carries information that tells the way affiliate marketing works is the link contains information that tells Amazon that's the person clicked on my link versus they searched for it online or whatnot. And that link is in right here, the tag so that this stuff tells them, but we're just going to grab the short link, copy it. Now I have my link.

I joined an affiliate network, I selected a product, and we're going to move on to post about how we can actually, you know, getting some people to come to my website. Okay, so now there are a few ways to get people to come to your link. Okay? You will already have access to them. Now, do you communicate with anybody digitally? My guess is yes you do. You probably use text messages that's the way you could get your link out to people. You use email, that's where you can get your link out to people. You use Instagram, that's the way you can get your link out to people. Do you ever post comments on Youtube? That's the way you can get your link out to people. Facebook, this is a way you can get your link out to people. All of these methods or ways you can get your link out to people. Now, most of the time you're probably having very like just, you know you're talking about a random social male, female social dynamics in your life. That's cool, but we're talking about making money here, so that's what we'll need to be talking to people about in our emails.

Now, let's say I'm recommending this book. The first place I could start is through email. I want people to Click on my link. I could send an email to a couple of my close friends, let's say, you know, or just people I know, you know, I could send one to, you know my friend Carlos. I'm actually gonna type in my friends' emails here just so you don't email all my friends, but I could type in my friends and I could, you know, write something like book recommendation and I could say, you know, I remember you asked me for a Scifi book recommendation, and I'm reading a really good one right now. I absolutely love it. Check it out, and I put my link there. See there's my link. So wrote a little short, short personal email in the way I normally communicate and then I just put my initials. So that's a way to get your link out to people. You could send an email to people that, whose emails you have. And in this case, I'm sending an email to Carlos who I know is interested in science fiction books. That would be a good way to start affiliate marketing.

Another way to start affiliate marketing I could go on my Facebook, and I have, you know, a lot of the people I'm friends with on Facebook are, you know, like the future and science fiction and all this stuff. I'm not going on my Facebook page. I'm going on my personal Facebook because I want to communicate with people personally. Do you buy things from ads? Probably not. Do you ever buy things or see movies or listen to music based on other friends of your personal recommendations? My guess is, yeah. Again, if we want people to buy from our link, it needs to be somewhat of a personal recommendation. That's why I'm posting on my personal profile. Now, if you don't want to sell anything, that's cool. Okay. But again, the other methods of getting your link out there are expensive. They cost money, so we're doing this for free. Now. If you are interested in going deeper into affiliate marketing and paid advertising and the art of copywriting, I suggest I'm going to have my assistant put up a link to my playlist called the art of copywriting here, which we'll go over how you can use paid advertising actually to make money with marketing.

Okay, so here we go. Create a post. I'll just say really good Scifi book. I'm reading Mine Gasisim's every day. So far, check it out. Neil Stevenson is a genius. Now I'm not spelling correctly because I'm doing personal communication. That's what sells. Again, if you look, if you're writing something that looks like an ad, nobody's going to buy ever, ever. Nobody wants to buy from ads, nobody wants to get raped, and that's what buying from an ad feels like. It feels like your wallet is being raped. You want to have, you want to feel like you're in love and a personal recommendation feels like you're in love. So here it is. Here's my post, very simple post, but then I just share it, and that's, that's how it works. Okay, then I'll just post right here.

Have You Ever Wondered How To Take A Year Off Work And Travel?

So in this video, I'm going to show you how to take a year off and travel the world like I've done and I'll show you these three nifty guidelines that I've used to determine my needs to getting out there and making stuff happen. So in order to take a year off and travel. There are a few things you need to understand. First off, I've kind of abbreviate everything by N.S. P.

The first part of this is needs. You need to know what your needs are. There are two components of this, okay? You need to know your needs in terms of money, and you need to know your needs in terms of time. So needs in terms of money, we can look at a few things to determine what you need first off to even get anywhere in the world. It depends on where you're going to start for taking a year off to travel. You could be starting at your own doorstep. Okay, so you could just say, I'm starting wherever I live, and I'm just going to strive off and do whatever. Okay, that's great. That means it'll cost you nothing, you know, to go off and start your trip or maybe you're going to rent a Winnebago, right.

That's if you're going to buy or rent a van or something that's going to cost you money, so you have to factor that into your needs. I'm going to use rough numbers for this, and just as a disclaimer for this situation, I'm going to assume you don't have a lot because I don't know your individual case. You might have a mortgage, you might have a car payment, you might have an ex-wife who needs payments every month. You might have kids. Again, whatever those are, those are things you'll have to calculate yourself into your base, but above your base is the stuff I'm going to talk about here.

Okay, so needs in terms of money, typically speaking, you're talking about a starting cost of $1,000. Okay, you want a plane ticket to Thailand, it costs you about 750 bucks. And to get phone service in Thailand or something like that, or in Bali, you're going to have to pay some money just to get a data plan. In these countries, you might have to pay another 50 bucks or so there's starting costs of getting situated anywhere in the world. You might need mosquito repellent, you might need shots, you might need vaccinations. There's a number of things you might need to pay for a visa. So moving to your first place generally requires, you know, some money, wherever that is, you know, if it's Europe or Asia or whatever. So let's say to start, it's $1,000. Now when you're traveling, here are some rules of thumb to use. And just to give you my experience, I took a year off, I think it was my junior and my senior year to just travel. And what I did was I traveled a bit of the world. I traveled all around Asia, Southeast Asia mainly. And there've been multiple points in my career where I've taken months off at a time to just travel.

And so all of these numbers come from my personal experience in traveling and doing this myself. So if you want to travel on the cheap side after you've gotten situated original thousand dollars, you'll need about five hundred dollars ($500) per month. I'd say that's the absolute cheapest that (90) ninety-some percent of people I believe would be willing to go to. I'm sure there are people who can talk about how you can spend even less than five hundred dollars ($500) a month. But generally speaking, I figure that you need about eight to ten ($10) per night to stay at a hostel or something like that. And you need about, you know, something like, you know, five ($5) or so per night for food or per day for food. Because in lots of countries like Thailand or something, each meal is, you know, two bucks or so. Now if you want to travel more comfortably, I recommend about a thousand dollars.

If you have a thousand dollar ($1,000) per month to spend, what she'll get is a little more what I call comfortable travel. You'll be able to spend a little more, you won't have to stay in a hostel if you have a thousand dollar ($1,000) per month to spend. He can stay in a cheap hotel for certain nights. Okay. If you're traveling, that have, you know, like shampoo bottles and, and you know, a conditioner and body wash so that you can cushion up, you know, a couple of times a week. And also you can, you can pay for some nicer meals here and there, but really a thousand dollar ($1,000) a month gives you more flexibility to travel. Okay. If you're just looking to stay situated in one place. Like with minimal amounts of travel, five hundred ($500) a month is good, but if you're looking to take a train somewhere or spend more money going to new countries and pay visa fees and stuff like that, that's going to cost you a little more.

Okay. So need a little bit more money to do that a thousand ($1,000) a month will allow you to travel throughout, you know, more countries. You know, generally speaking. Now if you'd like to be a little more comfortable traveling two thousand ($2,000) is a pretty good range to be in. If you want to take plane flights to new countries, you know, every other week or if you want to, stay in a hotel or a motel or something like that, if you want to eat what you want generally, you know, two thousands ($2,000) gives you roughly sixty or seventy dollars ($60 or $70) per day to spend and that gives you, you know, ten to fifteen dollars ($10 to $15) per meal and it gives you, you know, thirty to forty (30 to 40) bucks a night, which is pretty reasonable for international travel is it won't necessarily allow you to be in like the first world countries like hotels in like or France.

But you could travel first world countries like Europe and whatnot on two thousand dollars ($2,000) a month and a stay in hostels. So realistically speaking, if we add all of this up, we can put a range of five hundred to two thousand dollars ($500 to $2,000) per month that it would take to travel for a year. And the starting costs of any sort of travel are going to be about a thousand dollars so above, and beyond whatever expenses that I don't know about that you have that, you know, it could be mortgage car, I don't know what they are, but I don't, I can't calculate your expenses right here. You know, it'll cost an additional seven thousand to twenty-five thousand dollars ($7,000 to $25,000) if you want to travel for a year. Okay. If you want to travel comfortably, there'll be about two thousand dollars ($2,000) if you want to travel. You just want to do it, you want to do it, and you don't care how, you know how grody and you know you're staying in hostels every night, and you're staying in cheap hostels every night and all that stuff costs you seven thousand dollars $7,000 for the year. But it's totally possible. These are good ranges to kind of go-between. So those would be your needs in terms of money.

Now let's talk about your needs in terms of time, how your needs in terms of time. This can play a crucial role. For some of you, you may just want to take a year off. You don't want to do any work whatsoever. You don't want to do anything to make a dollar, okay. You don't care about money at all. But some of you may have businesses where you can freelance so you can contribute or you can do something with your work while you're out there. For me, I run an internet business. Okay and I've been running an internet business since 2012, and that's really afforded me, you know, it was kind of the reason traveling was the impetus that I started in internet business because it's very easy to travel.

But when you run an internet business, just, you know, I, all I need is an internet connection. One thing you might want to consider if you're working a job or you've been, you know, you've had tenure and you're working in a job for a long time, is maybe what you want to do is you want, you want to work remotely for your company. You know, you want to do certain projects remotely, on a monthly basis and that's a perfectly acceptable way you can earn some money. And this sort of situation can allow you to travel literally for life because as you saw to live comfortably overseas, you need about $24,000 per year. So working remotely with your job is a really feasible choice. Now what you need to do is you do need to prepare for working remotely with your job.

You need to let your boss know, and it depends on what sort of terms you are, but they could not pay your salary. So you need to, oftentimes people want to account for, you know, that their job lays them off while they're traveling. But as you saw on scenarios, if all you need is seven (7 to $25,000 ) seven to twenty-five thousand dollars there's a very high likelihood that you can travel indefinitely if you had a remote working arrangement, even if you're being paid half your salary in many cases. So it's a really feasible thing for me. I can automate quite a number of things in my business, but I'll still need to spend a few hours per week actually to run my business and bring in some money. Now personally, you know, I have a lot of money saved up so I could travel anyways. But if I wanted to continue having my business make me money, I still need to, you know, focus on automating things. So knowing your needs in terms of time is important. You know, how many hours per week do you need to be working, whether you have some sort of remote work arrangement or whatever. So you want to get your needs down. And also, this is going to go into we're going to talk about this later, but this will affect some of the other steps.

The second step is saving. And you want to save money, and you want to save time. Now it's obvious how much money we want to say. If you know, we want to save seven to twenty thousand dollars( $25,000) those are the numbers. In terms of saving time, that's not so obvious. Now for us, if you are traveling for a year, it depends on what it looks like for you. Again, if your needs and travel or just not even do anything work related the entire time, then you need all 24 hours a day.

But if your needs are that, you know, you're comfortable like me, you know, I'm comfortable spending a few hours per week running my business, but you know, I want to travel the rest of the time that factors into things. Let's say I only want to work five hours a week. I would need to do certain things in my business to make sure that, you know, I automate certain activities that I'm required for so that I don't have to spend that time managing those activities. So my business runs itself more now. There's a number of activities I do in my business. For instance, I do a lot of training webinars. I have accountants and lawyers and you know, bookkeepers and media buyer. I have all these people that always want to talk to me, you know, salespeople, etc. Tons of people are always wanting to talk to me.

And I would really need to automate a lot of these processes to make sure that, you know, I don't have all these people always wanted to talk to me and always expecting me on these training webinars and yadda, yadda, yadda every single day. Also in my situation, you know, I've mortgages, I have all this other stuff that requires time, you know. So understanding what your kind of basic activities are, you know, my life's a little more complex now, but you know, I'm assuming some of your lives, you know, maybe your life has certain things that you'll need to maintain and you'll need to find ways to save time so that you can reduce the amount of time you need to spend on maintaining whatever it is you currently have.

The third step is to plan, and this is the most exciting part. Obviously, you know, once you have saved up the money and you've, you've reduced the amount of time you need to spend if you're entrepreneur freelance or, if you were just like, I'm out, get to plan. And whether it's you go to Thailand or whether it's to go to Bali, great places, whether it's to go to Marocco or Brazil or wherever these places are, you want a time around, you know, for me, I have to plan things around where there's going to be good, consistent Internet access. Some of the most beautiful areas in the world don't have great Internet access, so I need to pick beautiful places that do have Internet access, you know, and consistent Internet access. That's a big problem with a lot of countries. I also need to make sure, for me, I need to make sure I go to hotels or hostels or whatever that have Internet access, not just some sort of like tethered mobile connection. I've been to so many hostels that, you know, they're like, oh, we have internet, but it's like a tethered connection to somebody's cell phone.

It sucks which is funny. This Airbnb I'm staying in here in Utah, I didn't think it was going to be the same situation where they have tethered mobile connections through the Internet is out. But you want to plan around where you're going to be and where you're going to go and what the cheapest routes to get there are.

Making money doesn't always have to be boring. John shows some fun and even weird ways to make money.

This video, I'm going to be going over weird ways to make money online the five weird ways you can make money online I am going to show you a few cool websites on my computer of where you can go to get that money.
Let's get it. There are a few weird ways that you can make money online. Internet's big space and just as many ways to make money on the real world. There are online, but here are some funny ones. So here at singularity hub, you can actually start a virtual business. You can start a business selling virtual real estate and making virtual money that has real-world value. This story, right? Here's about an entrepreneur Han Shay Chung who works in a game called second life and he has a company of 150 employees where they create a virtual real estate, virtual mansions, and virtual islands and virtual Dreamlands for people and people will pay real money to have these virtual worlds created for them.

Really Weird. You can even set up a real business, a shop in second life and have people pay you real money for digital things. Really Weird.
Here's another really interesting business, which is matchmaking. You can be an online match maker, and this is with Tawkify. You can apply to connect, you know, men and women are women and men or men and men, women and women are non-binaries with non-binaries. I don't know if I think it's stupid, but uh, if you're into the whole nine, I don't know what they do. But generally speaking, you can connect people with people. How about that? Uh, as a matchmaker and make money online doing it kind of fun. Right.

Um, here's another weird job you can do is you can sell old gift cards. So right here on res.com it says sell gift cards. So you could actually take gift cards that you've got. And I don't know how many times you've gotten gift cards. I got so many for Christmas. I mean, I'm, I'm old now, so like, you know, I'm 31, so I'm not, I'm not super old, but people don't like to buy me. And you know, they're like, it's this weird in-between stage. I get a lot of gift cards, and I don't want them, you know, I'd rather just have real money. It's like, not like I'm going to go to Gap, but a, you can make a bit, you can sell your gift cards. You could actually make a business out of selling other people's gift cards because most people just, you know, I have all these gift cards sitting around. I used to want to go through the time to actually selling them. So that's an interesting way to make money. Go door to door and get people's gift cards.

And so here's another interesting way to make money. You can make money from losing weight. Oh yeah, you can go to dietthat.com look at this. People can bet you can make it a game. They'll bet if you lose weight or not. So you see, look at this pot. The Pot is 1 million, $130,000 that people bet that this, these people aren't going to lose weight. So there's a lot of people here. Crazy. So you can, you can play these different games, and you can win money. Here's an individual person. Her name's Sid. People are betting 13,000 bucks. I don't know if it is that she is going to lose weight or that she's not, I don't know. But basically can make these bets and make money or lose money to lose weight. You have a bit about yourself.

Here's another weird way to make money online. You can buy and sell hair. Look, some of these, people are, you know, I guess virgin hair goes for more than if you're not a virgin. Look, look at all the people advertising here. Their hair's a virgin. I don't know. Can you see this? It's like virgin Remy hair. If you're a virgin and you have long hair, you could make some good money selling it. You know, 180 bucks. So who knows? Go for it, interesting way to make money.

And here's the last way that's pretty weird to make money online is you can join an internet jury, can actually be a part of mock juries and focus groups on ejury.com and help lawyers and attorneys figure out what questions they should be asking or what they should do in a case. So be a part of some jury, kind of crazy.

Now, there are plenty more ways to make money online. I know I've, I've done a ton of ways to make money online. I'm in a part of an online marketing called affiliate marketing. So I sell other people's products, and I make a commission when I sold it. I've sold things such as ebooks on how to protect yourself from extraterrestrials, not even joking. I've sold survival guides teaching people how to survive a financial and societal collapse. I've also sold products teaching people how they can create a self-sustaining ecosystem, in their backyard. So how they can farm fish and then use the fish droppings too, fertilize the soil above the fish droppings, to grow plants. So it's a self-sustaining ecosystem. All you need is the sun. Ways for college students to make money online. So I'm going to be going over four ways that you can make money online. If you are a college student.

Four ways to make money on or basic tasks, do basic online tasks and earn anywhere from, you know, five to $10 an hour. And I'm going to show you some of these things on my computer in just a second. The second way is e-commerce. You can sell products online, you could sell products that you have, you could sell other people's products and make money with e-commerce. And once again, I'll go over all this stuff. I'm going to show you examples of how to do each one of these on my computer in just a second here. Number three is you could do social media marketing. You're a college student, you probably know how to use social media. Probably spending too much freaking time on social media anyways, okay? You're probably spending too much time actually to make money online. It's a bad distraction. Don't do it. You're on my youtube. It's cool. Subscribe for that.

But social media marketing can be your actual job. And you can actually make a lot of money doing it. I do a lot of social media marketing in my business. I hired tons of agencies, and you can be one of those people working for guys like me. And number four is you can do affiliate marketing, affiliate marketing. It's more like marketing and sales right., You can sell other people's product on a commission only basis. So in this case, I mean you could make zero, you could make a big fat $0 dollars because again if you don't sell anything, you don't make any money. But if you do sell stuff, you could make, you know, hundreds of thousands, millions, tens of millions of dollars like me, if you know, you know how to do marketing and stuff. So let's come over to my computer, and I'll show you a few things.

Okay, so basic tasks or just, you know, it's basic work, and I just signed up for, the one place I would suggest and where you'll see the most tasks is called Amazon Mechanical Turk. Now keep in mind with any of these methods to make money online, you will have to put in your personal identifying information, your social security, or whatever it is in your country. And you'll also have to put in your banking information. In order to get paid, you're going to need to put in those parts of information. So don't be surprised when you're like, ah, Amazon's asking from me, you know, banking information. It's, you know, it's, that's how you get money. Now, as you see here on my screen, there are all sorts of jobs on here. There's, transcription, there are surveys. Look, here's a survey pays you a penny though, okay. So a lot of these jobs are just, they aren't going to pay much.

Here's what you could classify kitchen appliances and get 10 cents. You can find somebody contact information and get 5 cents. You aren't gonna make a fortune doing on Amazon Mechanical Turk. But the nice thing is you can get started right away without any qualifications whatsoever. You just click accept and work right here, and you can start making money. It's not a lot of money though. It's not a lot of money. Not going to be, if you really push it, you can make $10 an hour, but you have to have qualifications. You have to do all this stuff. So it's really just, I don't even think it's worth it. You know, it's, it's again, there are humans all over the world. It's really pathetic how little value a human with no skills are. But again, you could try it and tell me how much money you make in the comments. I'd love to hear you try it for an hour and let me know how much money you made on mechanical Turk for an hour.

Okay. The second way of making money as eBay. So you could sell stuff, you could sell your junk or you could sell other people's junk for money. And if you see on eBay right here at the bottom, it says start selling clicks starts selling. You set up an account with eBay, and you can start selling products. You know, you could sell a pillow, you could sell, I mean you wouldn't want to sell money, but you could sell a mouse or computer, whatever it is, you can sell it and a, or if you have stuff in your parent's garage, you can sell that stuff and tell them you'll give them a percentage of what you sell. That's actually a really great business, and that's how I actually started out as an entrepreneur. I was selling stuff that I had on Ebay, and I made a few hundred bucks each week, and it was a great, it was a straightforward way to get started online when I moved to is I started selling other people's stuff on eBay and making the difference, you know, making a percentage of the profits. So that's a great way to get started. I like, you know, it's just straightforward, you know, buy it for $5, sells it at 10 a straightforward business model.

The third way of making money online is social media marketing, and you can find jobs on upwork.com upwork.com has a bunch of stuff where you can do social media marketing. I'm just going to search it right here. So as we see here, there are 2,386 jobs. Check that out. 2,386 jobs. People are looking for social media marketers. Now, once again, you're not going to become rich doing this. This person is accepting proposals for $5 to $10 an hour. Here's another person accepting proposals for less than $5 an hour, okay. So most of the proposals, again, are less than $5 an hour. Here's a proposal for 10 to $15 an hour, okay. So again, if you're working online, there competitive.

Market space is you have to understand you're competing with everybody in the world. So it's just competitive by the nature of it. And if you really want to make big money, you generally have to differentiate yourself somehow. I'm not going to apply to a job, but if I did, let's say wanted to apply to this job, this person is looking to build their Instagram followers, and they need help creating engaging posts. So what you do is you'd click on the post, you'd click submit a proposal. So this person requires credits to submit a proposal.

The fourth way of making money online if you're a college student is really simple. It's affiliate marketing and affiliate marketing. There are varying levels. It can get more advanced, and if you're looking to do, to learn more about affiliate marketing, I have a video series all about how to get started with affiliate marketing, but I'm going to show you a really basic way right here, which is Amazon associates. So if you go to amazon.com you'll see at the bottom they have an affiliate program. It'll say affiliate program, and you can earn up to 10% recommending people buy products on Amazon. And again, if you're a college student, you can do this. If for any age, you can do this, and what you do is you just sign up. You, see, join now for free. It says for free. See that. And you sign up. And when you're on Amazon, you can basically recommend any product you want. I'll show you right here. So let's say I wanted to make money from recommending this book by Cormac Mccarthy called no country for old men. Really great book. I just finished. There was a movie based on this book. If you guys saw the movie with Javier Bardem, an amazing movie, even more, amazing book. This guy is agnostic, you know, but you get the idea.

But what I would do is I'd simply go up here, and I click to get the link. See, it says Amazon associates. So when you sign up for their affiliate program, you'll get Amazon associates, and it'll show up site stripe, click get the link, click that you pulled out. It would give you a link, and all you'd have to do is you'd copy that link, and you'd paste it in social media or posted in forums or anywhere online. And if people click that link and buy a product, you are in a commission. Okay, so it's commission only sales. Now a better place to make money online is Clickbank. They pay much higher commissions, but I'm not here to talk about affiliate marketing. If you want to learn more about affiliate marketing, that's how I make money. I do have free training.
